The
4-channel MARC 2 PRO is the custom-made solution for the professional audio transfer
of a digital audio workstation. It offers uncompromising high-end features,
like the state of the art A/D and D/A section.
The balanced analog and digital interfaces to the outside world, amongst them
also an internal connector for connecting a CD-ROM drive with a digital
audio output, distinguishes by a Wordclock Input and comprehensive driver support,
wich offers especially
low latency values in ASIO, GSIF and DirectSound.
The MARC 2 PRO is prepared for the ASIO-IN-HARDWARE feature. This can be used
for direct access to the card memory using any ASIO recording
software. This feature will be available fully functional with
future driver updates.

Equipment

Stereo
Digital I/O
The card has optical and electrical inputs and outputs for S/PDIF
and AES/EBU (XLR). They can be
operated upto 24 bit and 96 kHz. This way high-quality
external converter or signal processors can transfer data without losses
in quality using dithering or resampling.
The digital XLR-, cinch connectors and the Wordclock Input are situated
on the slot card.
Stereo
Analog I/O
Digital inputs and outputs are completed by a balanced analog stereo input
and output. A/D and D/A converters each work at a maximum of 24 bit/96
kHz.
The signal-to-noise ratio amounts to approx. A/D 104 dB (A) and D/A
114 (A).
The analog input signal level can be adjusted between -40 dB
and +18 dB. The analog output level can be reduced to -60 dB.
Furthermore,
the card also contains the Software
and Hardware Features specific to MARIAN products.

Multi-Card
Operation and Drivers
|
In
a system upto 4 cards can be operated simultaneously requiring only one
installed driver. This driver in connection with the synchronization bus
allows a perfect synchronization of all installed cards.
Modular driver dialogs allow displaying and manipulating of numerous parameters,
including accurate level meters, flexible monitoring and synchronization
settings.
The cards has a highly developed multi-client driver architecture, which
allows extremely low latencies (up to 2 ms) with ASIO, GSIF and DirectSound. Because of this it is
especially tremendously suitable for time critical applications,
such as using the Cubase VST SoftSynths.
The driver supports reading of DAT-Markers. This highly
simplifies your work with CD-Premasters on DAT tapes.
