The aim of MARC
A' development was the creation of
an inexpensive audio card which supports the common optical ADAT
format in both directions.
The
card further works with drivers, which
enable a tremendously low latency using ASIO, GSIF and
DirectSound. Because of this it is especially suited for
hard-disk recording systems or software synthesizer.
The card is prepared for the ASIO-IN-HARDWARE feature. This can be used
for direct access to the card memory using any ASIO recording software.
This feature will be available fully functional with future driver
updates.

ADAT I/O
The optical digital ports operate with the common
ADAT format. This way data can be transferred using eight channels at
the same time with 24 bit and up to 48 kHz into and from the PC.
The card can be operated as both, record slave and play
master, enabling Marc A to work and record simultaneously as clock master.
Furthermore,
the card also contains the Software and
Hardware Features specific to MARIAN products.

Operation and Drivers |
In
a system upto 4 cards can be installed simultaneously requiring only one
installed driver. This driver in connection with the synchronization bus
allows a perfect synchronization of all installed cards. The number of
simultaneous recording channels depends on the power of the PC and is
limited to 15-22 channels at 44.1 kHz.
Modular driver dialogs allow displaying and manipulating of numerous parameters,
including accurate level meters, flexible monitoring and synchronization
settings.
The cards has a highly developed multi-client driver architecture, which
allows extremely low latencies (up to 2 ms) with ASIO, GSIF and DirectSound. Because of this it is
especially tremendously suitable for time critical applications,
such as using the Cubase VST SoftSynths.
